Two new, smaller trench terrain bundles are now available from Warfulcrum Games
Trenches are the most enduring visual legacy of the First World War. These defensive field works, which began as muddy rifle-scrapes in 1914, evolved into elaborate multi-layered systems, with dugouts, fire steps and emplacements placed in a zig-zag pattern stretching for miles and miles. By 1918, trenches had withstood almost all of the ferocious tools of war deployed by the warring nations.

For truly authentic games of 1918, therefore, you’re going to need some trench terrain. Our modular 28mm trench system now has a wide range of individual pieces, including straights, corners, emplacements and more - but filling up a full trench line with reserve trenches and all the rest is something of an investment.
With this in mind, we’re releasing a couple of smaller standalone bundles which will allow you to build out an impressive World War 1 battlefield for just £60 - a £20 saving on buying the pieces individually.
Each section is perfect for any kind of 28mm wargaming, whether it’s 40k or Trench Crusade - and they are wide enough for a miniature on a 40mm base to fit within. Each tile also contains slots for 5mm magnets, allowing you to create a fully modular, customisable layout for your tabletop.

We are also releasing barbed wire obstacle sections as the perfect accompaniment and can be used to deny key ground to enemy forces or slow down an attack on the emplacement or redoubt.
The Emplacement Bundle

This set contains five sections for our modular trench system, representing a gun emplacement. One section features an emplacement designed to fit a base up to 100mm, perfect for a field gun.
2x Straight A (Firestep)
2x End Pieces
1x Straight D (Gun Emplacement)
The Redoubt Bundle

This set contains a bundle of five sections for our modular trench system, representing a fortified redoubt. One section features a pillbox with a removable roof, perfect for keeping a machine gun section safe.
2x Straight A (Firesteps)
2x End Pieces
1x Straight C (Pillbox)
These bundles are designed to function on their own- they don’t need to be integrated into a wider trench network, though they are of course fully compatible with the rest of our modular system.
The trenches aren’t just for scenario play. All force lists in games of 1918 can include fortifications including trenches and pillboxes. This means you can make them a core part of your force and how you plan to fight.
The new trench terrain bundles and barbed wire are available from the Warfulcrum Games webstore now.
