Build an awesome 1918 game board with our incredible new scenery

We’ve released enough miniatures over the last few months to build up a complete army of British or German troops - and we’ve got an entire game system to play with them. But your games of 1918: Spring Offensive have been missing one crucial component: trenches.

Until now.

We’re incredibly proud to open the pre-orders for the first wave of our massive new system of modular trenches. Each piece is designed to fit together with every other piece, with the potential to build a huge system of dugouts, traverses, trenchlines and emplacements.

Every section is festooned with period details - Sam has spent many months deep in research - and we are convinced that this is the best and most detailed set of World War 1 terrain on the market. What’s more, as the terrain is printed in robust FDM, it’s designed to be played with: there’s enough clearance for bases of up to 40mm, and you will be able to storm your foe’s trench system without the fiddly process of finding space for your lads.

The starter set comes with 12 pieces:

  • 3x Straight A

  • 3x Straight B

  • 2x Traverse A

  • 4x Entrance A

Trenches were the defining feature of First World War battlefields, and this system of fortifications eventually grew to bisect almost the entirety of northern Europe. Many of the missions in the 1918: Spring Offensive rulebook require trench terrain for the full experience, and this set has been designed with those missions in mind. You’ll be able to emplace heavy machine guns and field guns, clear out the defenders with your submachine guns and cower from pounding artillery.

More sections are planned, including T-junctions, pillboxes, corners, flooded segments and more. We’ll release these over the next year or more - but there’s enough in this box to build a complex system of tiered reserve trenches. And while these trenches are intended to be used with our game system, there are plenty of other trench-based games they would suit - and if enough people ask us for, say, religious or demonic iconography, we may well be able to accommodate that need!

Pre-orders are open now. The starter set costs £100, which represents around a 20% discount. This sort of terrain takes a lot of time to print, so the pre-order period will last several months; it’s on a first-come, first-served basis so the sooner you order, the sooner you’ll receive it. We’ll also reserve a few sets to sell at the events we’ll attend this year, but we expect those to sell fast.

We are able to post this terrain internationally, though we can’t subsidise the postage costs.
