1918 Starter Set: Get started with WW1 miniatures gaming
It is not often easy to jump into historical wargaming - there are usually so many rules, components and army lists that it’s hard to know where to begin.
So after loads of conversations with people at shows - we’ve decided to release the 1918: Starter Set.

We’re very excited about this set – it’s a complete introduction to 1918: Spring Offensive in a box. You get two half platoons of Brits and Germans, a rules booklet, and all the order dials and tokens that you need to play the game right out of the box.
There are 36 miniatures in all: a British Lieutenant and his Batman, who leads a Rifle Section of seven men and a Lewis Gun Section of eight.
They are opposed by a German Sergeant and two LMG Sections armed with the MG08/15, both featuring nine men.
The rules cover everything you need to play with these two forces, including an introductory scenario, while you can keep track of orders, morale and suppression with tokens and dials. It’s the perfect way to get started - not least for younger gamers who have an interest in the period.

This set is designed for people who want to experience 1918 but who aren’t quite ready for the full experience - but it’s easy to move up to the full rules. Nothing has been changed or dumbed-down; the starter booklet simply doesn’t cover things like artillery batteries and heavy machine guns, field guns, artillery, tanks, gas or cavalry. There’s plenty of guidance inside the booklet on how to expand your forces into a full platoon and beyond.
The set is available now from the Warfulcrum Games webstore - and it will soon be available from other selected retailers - we'll be sharing more about this soon! And if you’re a wargames retailer and you’re interested in carrying 1918, please get in touch - this is the box to stock.
