By 1918, British infantry were adaptable and well-trained. Years of combat and recruitment had seen the British Army grow to its largest size in history. Largely armed with Short Magazine Lee Enfield (SMLE) rifles, these Infantry would enter 1918 with the latest in small infantry tactics and equipment.
